How To Deal With Red Eyes Exposed To Table Salt?
Hello, I thought I wanted to ask a solution for my eyes that were exposed to table salt, my eyes felt sick and my head was red too, so I was afraid something would happen with my eyes so I beg for help to solve my problem
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, salt does not contain certain substances that can actively damage eye tissue. Coarse kitchen salt can scratch the cornea of the eye when rubbed, and can also draw water from the cells in the cornea and conjunctiva so that it might cause vision to blur.
You can rinse your eyes with running water for about half an hour to remove salt from your eyes. Do not rub or rub it with your hands so that it does not cause further injury to your eyes. Blurry vision usually improves on its own in a few minutes to a few hours so you don't need to worry too much.
If indeed the salt has caused wounds to the cornea, usually the wound will improve by itself within 24-48 hours. During this healing time your eyes may feel painful. You can take pain relievers such as paracetamol to help relieve some of the pain. Make sure you don't rub, rub, or touch your eyes to avoid further infection.
If your eyes still stay red for more than 24 hours, your eyes will feel more painful, your eyes will become blurry, and immediately go to the eye doctor for further therapy.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
