Hello, I want to ask yesterday, I checked into a nerve poly doctor told me to check blood for calcium, and I was given a diagnosis of spasmophilia, the results of my blood level were good, but from the symptoms that I experienced were exactly the same as spasmophilia but my blood level was good … what do I do, I still don’t understand

1 Answer:

Hello Anatasya, Thank you for the question.

Spasmophilia is a condition characterized by muscle cramps, muscle stiffness, or twitching. This condition is caused by electrolyte imbalances in the body such as low calcium levels or low magnesium levels in the blood. In addition, this condition is also related to psychological factors such as anxiety, stress, and others that can increase nerve cell activity and trigger spasmophilia symptoms so that sufferers can experience symptoms of muscle spasms and shortness of breath. To diagnose this condition, the doctor needs to know the symptoms that you are experiencing, do an examination on you, and do a supporting examination such as blood tests and EMG (electromyography). If the results of blood tests show normal results, doctors will usually still recommend EMG. Please discuss further with the neurologist who treats you.

Please do the following suggestions as well:

get enough rest
manage stress well
Limit consumption of caffeinated beverages
Avoid consumption of alcoholic drinks
Hopefully this information is useful.
