How To Deal With Stitch Marks That Drain Pus?
I gave birth a month ago normally. Two weeks after delivery, the stitch marks hurt, apparently there was a kelpid and at the end there was pus, then cleaned by the midwife and drank 10 tabs of amox. The pain was not bad, but about 4 days later I checked again that there was still pus. I was prescribed amox (10 tabs) and paracetamol because at that time I also had a fever. The amox has run out but the infection doesn’t seem to have healed yet. What should I do? R n r nThank you
Hello Mrs. Zian,
One of the complications of labor sutures is infection. Usually characterized by pain in the stitches, the stitches are loose, swelling, pus and fever. This infection is treated with antibiotics which must be taken for a certain period of time. If it does not improve, you should consult your obstetrician for further actions, such as cleaning the wound and changing antibiotics. It is better not to delay the consultation so that it does not get worse, and not to take medication or herbal medicine carelessly considering that you are breastfeeding.
In addition to medication, you can help healing by resting, maintaining hygiene in the genital area, eating healthy, balanced nutrition and controlling stress.
