How To Deal With Stuttering For Years?
Excuse me, how do I cure stuttering because I have experienced stuttering for 12 years, please provide information 🙏🙏😭😭😭😭
Hello M Nashrul Amrulloh,
Stuttering is a disorder of fluency that is characterized by repetition of words or difficulty starting a speech phrase. Stuttering can be caused by genetic factors and interference with motor control of speech. Stuttering can also occur due to other diseases such as strokes, head injuries, and other central nervous system diseases.
Symptoms of stuttering include:
Difficulty pronouncing or starting a new phrase while talking
Repeat a word or syllable
An extension of a word or sound in a word
There was a long silence between words
Twitching in the jaw, eyes flickering faster, and stiffness in the face when you want to talk
Anxious when talking
The symptoms of stuttering can occur more severely when the patient has to talk in front of a crowd, talk on the phone, be under pressure to answer quickly. Stuttering can disrupt communication so that it can affect the work and social relationships of patients. Patients who experience stuttering can also feel afraid to speak in public, as well as stress because they are not able to convey their thoughts properly.
Symptoms of stuttering generally occur since childhood. Some can disappear by itself in line with the development of children's speech skills. But stuttering that persists for> 6 months, accompanied by other speech disorders, accompanied by physical symptoms such as jaw that stiffens when talking, interferes with activities, causes anxiety disorders, and stuttering that only occurs as an adult are examples of stuttering that require further examination and treatment.
An examination with a doctor is needed to find out the patient's disease history and do a physical examination and supporting examinations (eg CT-scan, MRI) to exclude the possibility of organic diseases in the central nervous system that cause stuttering experienced by patients. If there are no organic abnormalities, then the patient can continue therapy with a speech therapist. Speech therapy for stuttering patients aims to improve the fluency of speech, helping to create effective ways of communication for patients so that they can communicate well in school and the workplace. The use of special electronic devices (delayed auditory feedback) for stuttering also exists that can help improve fluency, but still requires practice to use it. No drugs are specifically given and can improve the condition of stuttering.
Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
