How To Get Rid Of Eye Floaters That Have Been Around For Years?
In my eyes there have been floaters for a long time, 4 years ago I went back and forth to the doctor from an ordinary eye doctor to an eye neurologist and finally I stopped because I just thought I was just being thrown from one doctor to another. There was even one doctor who casually said my right eye was deformed and incurable, but I didn’t believe it. And now I’m sticking with my left eye even though it has floaters too. Please give me some enlightenment to heal or get rid of these floaters
Thank you Dwikiandhika Ryan Putra for your question on the HealthReplies.com forum, eye floaters are a condition where the spots float around and interfere with vision in the eyes. This condition usually results from the formation of a protein in the eye area called the vitreous. As you age, these proteins can clump up in the eye so that they become spots that interfere with the visual field. This situation can usually occur at the age of 50 to 75 years. However, this condition also does not rule out the possibility of occurring at all ages, this condition is even more common in people who have myopia or have had cataract surgery. Apart from this condition, eye floaters can also be caused by several other conditions such as:
- history of eye injury
- eye infection
- eye tumor
- detached retina of the eye
- there are crystal deposits in the vitreous of the eye
- the influence of diabetes
In general, a mild condition usually does not require medical treatment. However, if the condition is very severe then laser therapy or surgery is called a vitrectomy, in which a doctor removes the contents of the vitreous and replaces it with another fluid. However, of course this action is also accompanied by risks that can occur such as infection, glaucoma, to permanent vision loss. Therefore, in this condition you should still be able to consult an ophthalmologist to confirm the condition again before you can determine the appropriate next action.
