Hi Harjono. In general, it can be found that our height will experience a difference of about 0.5-1 cm higher and at night there can be a similar reduction. This can happen where when we sleep, our spine does not have the pressure created by our weight, so the spine can stretch according to the distance between the existing vertebrae. Meanwhile, when we measure at night, usually we have done all day activities which include sitting and standing which of course puts pressure on the spine as a support for weight so that there is a slight reduction in height.

However, if you expect permanent weight gain, then the chances are minimal, especially if you have gone through puberty or are over the age of 21. This is because the epiphyseal plate has closed completely. Talk to your doctor about your condition.
