How To Lose Weight With Fruits?
Hello, I want to ask a myth or fact if foods that taste sour, especially fruits, really help you lose weight? Because many of my friends say that I am very skinny fast because I like and also often consume fruit that tastes sour, even though I eat these sour fruits because I really like them. I really wonder if what my friends are saying is true. Please answer yes, thank you.
Hello Roselin, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Acidic fruits such as oranges or lemons are often recommended for consumption by people who are in the process of losing weight. However, the weight loss effect that fruit can get does not come from the sour taste of the fruit. The effect of weight loss is obtained more from the high fiber intake in fruit which causes a fuller stomach for longer. In addition, fruits (especially fruits such as oranges-jerukan) have relatively low calories when compared to foods that contain carbohydrates such as rice, potatoes, corn, foods containing protein such as meat, tofu, tempeh, and foods that contain fat.
The effect of food on body weight lies in the calories contained in these foods. If the calories that enter the body are more than the calories expended (through normal metabolism and exercise), weight gain will occur and a person will easily gain weight. If the calories that enter the body are less than the expenditure, weight loss will occur and a person will become thin. To maintain an ideal body weight, the calories that enter from food must be in balance with the calories the body releases.
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
