How To Neutralize Antibiotics?
anyone can tell me how to neutralize antibiotics in large quantities?
Hello Hanjati Arif Dio,
Antibiotics are drugs that are used to treat bacterial infections. There are many classes of antibiotics such as penicilin, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, macrolides. Each antibiotic has different effectiveness on certain types of bacteria.
Misuse of antibiotics can result in:
Infection in the body does not heal
Bacteria become resistant to this type of antibiotic, so the next time it is used, it is no longer effective
Some types of antibiotics need to be avoided for use in children, pregnant women, and the dosage needs to be adjusted for patients with liver or kidney disorders.
An overdose of antibiotics does not cause death and no special treatment or antidote needs to be given to the patient. The body by itself can eliminate antibiotics from the body. Possible effects that can arise from overdose of antibiotics are:
So that treatment can be given in the form of diarrhea and vomiting replacement fluids and provide drugs to reduce the patient's nausea. Certain types of antibiotics such as quinolones, beta lactam, if an overdose occurs can cause neurotoxicity characterized by seizures, decreased consciousness, impaired movement, impaired sensory function of the hands and feet. Management of this neurotoxicity includes stopping the consumption of antibiotics, administering seizures, and hemodialysis (dialysis) for certain cases.
Patients who are allergic to a type of antibiotic can experience a severe allergic reaction when taking these antibiotics. Severe reactions can cause anaphylactic shock which can be life threatening if not treated immediately. Patients with a history of attempted suicide should get further examination with a doctor and counseling with a psychiatrist to explore further the problems he has and can be determined accordingly. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
