Afternoon, I am 19 years old. I want to ask about mental disorders. Since I was 13 years old, I always overthink about many things. Over time, the habit became more and more and after a while I often blamed myself even in trivial things. Because of this I have less respect for myself and sometimes hate myself.rnrnBesides that, I am also often haunted by fear. For example, when I’m in a public place, I feel like all eyes are looking at me. Once when I was on a very crowded train, I cried for no apparent reason. I always feel watched and because of this I often avoid social activities and I often feel lonely.rnrnHaunted by fear and anxiety, I quickly panic. When I panic, it feels like there is pain in my throat and sometimes it feels like I’m going to pass out. rnrnDo I have a mental disorder or is this feeling normal?

Hi Ara,

Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com. Excessive feelings of anxiety or fear can be caused by several conditions such as:

·         Anxiety disorders

·         Panic attacks

·         Phobias

·        Paranoid personality

· Depression

If this does not interfere with your daily activities then this could be a personality trait of you which is a paranoid personality, but if it causes disturbance in your daily activities or even your work then it is a disturbance. You are advised to see a psychiatrist or psychiatrist for further treatment. Here are some tips that you can apply:

·        try to learn to think positively

·        live life in the present

·         do something new and fun every time a negative aura appears, for example diving class. Doing new things will make the body feel challenged so that it stimulates and increases the hormone dopamine which is associated with pleasure, enjoyment, and learning

·         keep a mood diary, which can be a reminder of the positive things that have happened in your life

·         communicate more with family, relatives, or close friends, so you don't feel alone, empty, or insignificant

·        do regular exercise, such as walking 3-5 times a week for 20-30 minutes

·        have sufficient sleep time of about 6-8 hours a day

Thus the information from me, hopefully useful.

regards,

dr. junior
