How To Prevent Typhoid Febrile From Recurring?
Doctor, I have been experiencing typhoid febrile symptoms since 11 days ago. 5 days ago I went to the doctor. Then I was given antibiotics by a doctor. I feel better. Finally yesterday I decided to take a shower and wash my hair. But after coming from the bathroom, I trembled and staggered, and I felt a fever again. What happened to me? Am I still experiencing this typhoid febrile? What should I do?
Hello Maharani Syifa,
Typhoid fever is a disease that can be caused by infection with Salmonella typhii bacteria. This infection is transmitted through oral fecal, when consuming unhygienic food, not washing hands before eating and after defecating, consuming raw food, and so on.
Typhoid fever is characterized by symptoms of high fever that is long and is increasing, especially in the afternoon and evening. Other symptoms that accompany include heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, body weakness, enlarged liver, white tongue, and so on. Management of typhoid fever depends on the severity of symptoms that arise, most patients can be treated at home with antibiotics. Fever in typhoid fever can generally be 7-14 days or up to 1 month. Fever can sometimes reappear after 2 weeks of disappearing fever.
Enforcement of typhoid fever diagosis in addition to clinical symptoms is to use blood tests. Widal examination helps the diagnosis, with an increase in certain titer. Because Indonesia is an endemic country for typhoid fever, so most people when tested for Widal levels are positive but not necessarily sick of typhoid fever (healthy). Another more specific examination is TUBEX.
Treatment besides giving antibiotics is adequate rest, consumption of easily digested food, drinking enough water, administering medicines to reduce fever, reduce nausea, overcome diarrhea / constipation. Patients who experience vomiting continuously until the urine decreases, tend to sleep or like people confused, vomiting blood or black bowel, should be immediately taken to the doctor to get treatment. Prevent typhoid fever by always washing hands before eating, cooking food until cooked, washing food properly, washing hands before preparing and feeding food to children, washing hands after urinating / defecating. Apply a healthy and clean lifestyle.
Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
