How To See OPK (ovulation Predict Kit)?
Hello, I want to ask, so if I often google to find out fertile days, one of them is by using OPK through urine test. Lah the results I often know are that POSITIVE appears 2 lines as bright or part (T) est brighter than ( C) ontrol .. If NEGATIVE only appears 1 line on the part (C) ontrol, or the line (C) ontrol is brighter than the line (T) est right ?? What if every time OPK test after menses (because of irregular menses) the result is often the same bright for both lines ??? Even though women only fertile time around 1-2 days right ??? So it’s hard to determine my fertile day .. Ask for an explanation .. Thank you
Hello Alia, Thank you for the question.
Ovulation prediction kit (OPK) is a test used to detect when a woman will ovulate. Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary into the Falopi fallopian tube. Fertility is the time around the time of ovulation, usually occurs on the 10th day until the 17th day of the first menstrual day, for those who have a 28 day menstrual cycle. However, for those who have varied or irregular menstrual cycles, calculate the fertility period based on your menstrual cycle in the past 6-12 weeks. Here's how to calculate it:
Find your shortest cycle, for example 26 days, and subtract this number by the number 18. You will get the number 8. This is the first day when you enter the fertile period
Find your longest cycle, for example 32 days, and subtract this number by the number 11. You will get the number 21. This is the last day of your fertile period
From the above calculation, you will get your fertile period starting from the 8th day to the 21st day from the first menstrual day. This prediction of the fertile period can be helped by the use of OPK you mentioned. You can start using this OPK for a few days before the first day of your fertile period. Why? OPK detects luteinizing hormone (LH) in the body from urine. When the OPK results show positive results (found 2 red lines with lines on (T) est equal to or darker than (C) ontrol), then this indicates that the LH has increased and ovulation will begin immediately. Usually 36 hours after LH has increased, ovulation will begin. If you have found positive results, then you are encouraged to start having sex more often, at least once per day to increase the chances of conception. You also need to know that this OPK detects an increase in LH which indicates ovulation is imminent, but OPK cannot ensure that ovulation will definitely occur because in some cases an increase in LH is not followed by ovulation. My advice, if you have used OPK correctly and have had more regular intercourse when the results of the OPK show positive results, but pregnancy does not also occur, you should consult with a specialist obstetrician further.
You are also advised to do the following when running a pregnancy program:
consume balanced nutritious food
consume supplements or foods that contain folic acid
manage stress well
get enough rest
Avoid smoking and consuming alcoholic drinks
avoid using vaginal lubricants
Hopefully this information is useful.
