How To Treat Babies Affected By Singapore Flu?
Greetings doctor, I want to ask what is the medicine for babies aged 9 months affected by the virus / Singaporean flu? my child has been half of this year getting itchy skin that doesn’t heal. I have been treated everywhere but not recovered too. thank you
Hello Yesi Ernita Aruan,
The disease called Singapore Flu is an infectious disease caused by a virus. This disease is self limiting (can heal itself), within 7-10 days. This virus is transmitted through nasal fluid, throat when coughing and sneezing, feces, and fluid from nodules on the skin. Symptoms that can be found in babies suffering from singapur flu are:
Fever Decreased appetite Appears canker sores in the mouth or watery nodules around the lips Appears red-filled water nodules on the hands and feet Infants become more fussy Cough colds Colds flu diagnosis is based on physical examination and a history of disease and transmission from anamnesis (patient / family interview). Singapur flu treatment aims to reduce complaints that arise, for example by giving Paracetamol to reduce fever, maintain adequate hydration by administering water and other fluids, provide food in a softer or liquid form / soup, provide anti-itching cream, and etcetera.
Itching that has been> 1 month long without any symptoms as above, is likely not the singapur flu. It is better to take the child to see a doctor to determine the cause of the itching. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
