How To Treat Burns?
Hi ,. Last Sunday afternoon, September 9, I had an accident and got many external injuries (about 5 injuries). I was immediately taken to the nearest clinic and got there the doctor came late so I had to wait a long time while the wound was bleeding a lot. After the doctor came, without washing his hands or using a handscoon, the doctor immediately took a small comm which if he saw it was very dirty and rusty then filled with NaCl and put a cotton pad, then my wound was cleaned using the cotton in a rough way (not one-way or like swiping a card voucher using coin) and only use that 1 cotton swab for all my wounds. Then my severe wounds (elbows and knees) were immediately covered with cotton and gauze, while the wounds on my fingers were closed using hansaplast and the worse was that I was not given any medicine while the wound was still very dirty. Until the house, my wound was getting redder, the edges were black, wet, a lot of pus, swollen and smelled fishy, which means the wound was infected. I took it to the hospital emergency room, my wound was compressed and cleaned using NaCl and sterile gauze. When cleaned, the wound was filled with sand and dirt. After that, I was given the medicine Mefinal and the antibiotic Cefadroxril Monohydrate and Gentamicin ointment. When I got home I tried to use the ointment and the result was the more and more pus it drained, I took the 2 medicines and my chest became tight and it was difficult to breathe. My aunt suggested using coconut oil mixed with heated onion slices and then rubbed it on the side of the wound and right on the wound. The result was that my wound dried up, but the pus never stopped coming out. The pus is sometimes plain yellow or thick yellow in color and sometimes liquid thickens or thickens and then hardens. I still feel aches, pains and aches. Since I was a school majoring in Nursing, 3 days at school I cleaned the wound using NaCl and sterile gauze then my teacher helped cover the wound using only sterile gauze poured with NaCl. The result is that the gauze sticks when I want to open it at home. I forcefully pulled out my wound so it peeled off and came out a little thick blood. I wonder how,? Can I be diligent at home cleaning the wound with NaCl then using coconut oil? Please help answer. I still don’t understand about the wound and how the nursing care is. thanks.
When a wound occurs, good wound care should be done to help accelerate wound healing and prevent infection of the wound. Do you have a history of drug allergy? Do you have a history of ulcers or acid reflux disease?
Mefinal contains mefenamic acid which functions to reduce pain and inflammation. This drug has side effects in the form of heartburn (can be felt as a sensation of shortness of breath / shortness of breath), nausea, vomiting, indigestion, decreased appetite, headaches, drowsiness, and fatigue. Cefadroxil is an antibiotic to treat bacterial infections. This medicine has side effects such as diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, and inflammation of the tongue. Gentamycin ointment is an antibiotic that can be used in wound care. This medicine may cause side effects in the form of a rash or itching on the skin and allergic reactions.
If you experience complaints after consuming mefenamic acid and cefadroxil, you should go back to the doctor who gave the drug. It could be a complaint caused by an allergic reaction, drug side effects, or because you take mefenamic acid before eating, causing irritation in the stomach. You should not stop taking antibiotics without consulting your doctor first.
How wide and deep is the wound? To treat wounds, you can do the following tips:
Wash hands before and after treating the wound Clean the wound with NaCl solution You can compress the wound with a sterile gauze soaked in NaCl for a few minutes Apply antibiotic ointment If the wound is small and not in the wound, you can just leave it open, do not need to be closed as long as it does not have the potential to get dirt or dust. The wound is large or has the potential to be exposed to dust, the wound can be covered with sterile gauze Change the gauze if it is dirty or wet, you have to be careful when opening the gauze, don't force the gauze to force it but you can wet it with NaCl until it's wet to make it easier to remove the gauze Option otherwise, you can cover the wound not with sterile gauze, but with alginate or low-adherent absorbent dressing. The dressings will not stick to the wound and to remove it, it is sufficient to moisten it with NaCl or clean water. Increase consumption of healthy and high protein foods to help accelerate wound healing, do not abstain from food during the healing period, yes. If the wound does not improve immediately, there will be signs of infection such as pus not Healed immediately, the wound swells, redness, more pain, and fever, you should control again to the doctor so that you can be given more optimal wound care and given additional treatment if needed.
Hope it can help you,
