How To Treat Dry Skin That Feels Hot And Sore?
Hello,. I’m Teti, I’m 19 years old. The last two days my skin especially on the back and in the middle between the arms and wrists is really dry. I thought I was lacking in vitamins, so I finally applied handu0026amp;body lotion after taking a shower yesterday afternoon. But how come after the part that was smeared it doesn’t feel hot and turns red. Yesterday I tried applying it again, but it wasn’t too hot, maybe because I didn’t apply as much as yesterday afternoon. But this afternoon it seemed like my back was sweating and suddenly felt so hot and sore. My question is, what causes my body to be so dry and why does it get hot, sore, even red? Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond to my question.
Hi Teti, Thank you for asking on HealthReplies.com.
Dry skin is a common condition that can be caused by age. Apart from age, this condition can also be caused by:
irritation to the skin for example due to detergents used to wash clothes
scrubbing the skin too hard
Wrong use of soap
Immediately dry with a towel after bathing
changes in the weather
certain medical conditions such as eczema or psoriasis
Skin that is red and feels hot after using a skin product is a symptom of irritation or an inflammatory reaction (contact dermatitis) to the ingredients of the skin product you are using. You should no longer use these skin products so that complaints do not recur and worsen. If you want to use a skin moisturizer, please choose another product that is hypoallergenic / gentler.
You can do the following suggestions to deal with dry skin:
increase the consumption of water at least 2 liters per day
do not bathe too often and do not bathe too long. The recommended bath time is no more than 10 minutes
avoid scrubbing the skin too hard
use a mild soap that contains moisturizer
Avoid long term sun exposure
If this dry skin complaint is because you have eczema or psoriasis then further treatment is needed by a dermatologist,
Hope this information is useful for you.
