How To Treat Itching And Redness In The Neck In Children Aged 2 Years?
Good evening, doc. I have a 2-year-old child who often gets sweat on his neck, red and very severe until he is bleeding. About what medicine is used to treat redness in the neck which is severe and what is the solution to prevent it.
Hello Dex Windha, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Prickly / miliaria is a prominent red rash that itches / stings especially in areas that produce a lot of sweat. Miliaria itself is the lightest (miliaria crystalline), pus-filled miliaria due to secondary infection from bacteria (miliaria pustulosa), to miliaria that is located in (miliaria profunda). Sister can apply calamine lotion (can be purchased freely) to help reduce itching and irritation. If you take the child to the doctor, the doctor will examine and if there are indications will be to take antihistamines to reduce itching, and hydrocortisone cream (can be obtained by a doctor's prescription) which is effective against itching and irritation. Use loose clothing and try not to overheat the child (preferably in an air-conditioned room), and bathing in cold water (not warm water) is more recommended in patients with miliaria.
Prevention of prickly heat: try not to overheat the body, use soap that does not contain perfume and use baby soap that is soft (does not make it dry). Don't use an oil-based topical medication that actually clogs pores (will aggravate miliaria), avoid tight clothing.
All of our suggestions and answers, hopefully useful, good afternoon.
