How To Treat Knee Joint Inflammation?
Morning. I want to consult, my father’s inflammation of the knee joint has been injected into 3 doctors but it still hurts when I walk. How to treat it. THANKS.
Good evening, thanks for the question
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic and progressive joint inflammation. There are several risk factors for OA, namely obesity, muscle weakness, excessive or insufficient physical activity,
history of trauma, heredity. and mechanical factors. OA most often affects the knee, pelvis, spine and ankles. The characteristics of OA are characterized by complaints of joint pain and
OA treatment aims to
relieve pain, improve joint motion and function and improve quality of life.
OA treatment consists of 3 stages.
1. The first stage is a weight loss program, joint scope improvement therapy, and aerobic exercise.
2. The second stage includes the first stage accompanied by anti-inflammatory treatment. Anti-inflammatory medication starts with a low dose that can be raised if the low dose response is less effective. Alternative therapy can be by injection into the joint such as administration of hyaluronan or short-term corticosteroids (one to three weeks) to knee OA.
3. Third stage
In severe OA, the symptoms of pain persist or get worse after getting the standard treatment according to the recommendations (failed therapy), then consider knee replacement surgery.
Carry out further consultations with an orthopedic specialist. For assessment of current joint severity and evaluation of treatment response.
That is all, hopefully you can help
