Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
A swollen penis accompanied by fever (chills) may indeed indicate an infection. This infection may be confined to the head of the penis (balanitis), the foreskin (balanoposthitis), or the surrounding area. This infection is very susceptible to occur in people whose penis hygiene is not maintained properly, including because they like to have free sex, do masturbation with hands or sex toys that are not clean, swim in dirty pools, and so on. Men who are not circumcised are also more at risk of developing this infection.
There are various microorganisms that can cause infections of the penis, but the most common are fungi, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes simplex, trichomonas, and so on. This infection can also cause the penis to feel itchy, sore, or peel.
Not only infection, complaints like what you are experiencing may also occur due to other causes, for example:
Penile irritation, including the result of excessive friction during sexual intercourse
Irritation due to exposure to certain chemicals, such as soap, condoms, sexual lubricants
Injury to the penis, for example from a hard impact
Phimosis, a condition in which the foreskin of the penis cannot be pulled back
Insect bites, and so on
We recommend that you have your condition checked directly to the doctor so that you can identify the exact cause of your complaint. If it is true that there are symptoms of infection, the doctor will generally give you several types of drugs, either given topically (topical medicine) or oral (oral medication), for example antibiotics (if the infection is suspected to be caused by bacteria), and so on. If necessary, you may also be referred to a dermatologist and genitalia specialist for further management.
In the meantime, you should first take paracetamol so that fever and swelling in your penis subside. Avoid over-pressing the swollen penis or applying any medication without the doctor's knowledge. Wear pants that are loose, clean, and soft. Bathing regularly, always clean your genitals after urinating, avoid casual sex, and also avoid excessive masturbation habits.
Hope it helps ..
