How To Use And Side Effects Of Menstruation Delay Drugs?
Hello doctor. I am 20 years old and going to perform the pilgrimage to leave November 1 to November 9. And based on my menstrual cycle, November 1 (28 day cycle) is the date I get my period. Is menstrual delay drugs safe for women who are not married? And what are the side effects of delaying menstruation drugs? From what date do I have to start taking the medicine and to what date should I stop it? As well as what dose should I take? Thank you doctor, please help
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically menstruation arrangements before performing the Hajj / Umrah ideally should be done since 3 months before performing the Hajj / Umrah. If the arrangement is made since 3 months before the worship is done, then this cycle can be done by giving a combination birth control pill and when worship is done, it will be given a progesterone birth control pill to prevent menstruation. Arrangement in this way is the most recommended and most effective arrangement to prevent menstruation during worship.
Another way to postpone menstruation if departure is imminent, then progesterone birth control pills (such as norethisteron) alone can be given from 3 days before the estimated next menstruation and continue to be drunk until the end of worship. Menstruation will usually occur around 3 days after stopping the drug. This second method should not be done if your menstrual cycle is irregular or cannot be predicted accurately.
You are still advised to carry out an examination to the obstetrician for the administration of these drugs.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
