HPV Vaccination Not On Schedule?
w asked, related to the HPV vaccine (cervical cancer). My doctor canceled the vaccine on the 30th while the doctor didn’t have a practice schedule on that day. Do you think it’s better to have the vaccination done before or after the specified date?
It doesn't matter if the second or third dose of HPV vaccine is given only a few days late, because it won't cause a significant difference, some studies even state that delaying a repeat HPV vaccine dose does not reduce the effectiveness of the HPV vaccine.
However, it would be better if you follow the given schedule, which is usually the second injection in the 1st month after the first injection (for the bivalent vaccine) or 2 months after the first injection (for the quadrivalent type). then the third dose is given after 6 months after getting the first injection.
I hope this helps
