Hello … nDok, I want to ask. I had an IVA check before. Result (+). But I have done cryotherapy treatment. Will I get better? NDo I need further tests? NI am currently doing cryotherapy at the puskesmas.
Hello Mrs. Via,
The IVA test (visual inspection of acetic acid) is a test used as an initial examination to detect an abnormality in the cervix (cervix). A positive IVA indicates a lesion that is suspected of being a precancerous lesion. A positive IVA usually requires further examination, such as a pap smear or biopsy.
Cryotherapy is a clotting procedure that is performed on the tissue which can then be destroyed. With this process, it can generally remove pre-cancerous cells. Even so, it needs regular monitoring (usually around every 6 months or as recommended by a doctor) because there is still a chance that the lesions will reappear.
Your action by conducting early checks has been very good. Then you can control to the obstetrician to determine the next step.
