In The Area Below The Former Appendicitis Feels Hardened?
Good morning, I want to consult my condition after 3 weeks of undergoing appendicitis. This week I have been doing normal activities by moving freely without any pain after surgery. But I have a concern. In the area below the former surgery, meat or (other organs that I do not know) more hardened than other areas. The hardened meat feels disturbing especially when in a prostration position. Is that reasonable? Please give the info, thank you.
Good morning Wildafahira, thank you for asking on HealthReplies.com.
Appendectomy can indeed cause complications afterwards such as intestinal adhesions, disruption of bowel movements, infection of the surgical scar or the formation of scar tissue in the surgical scar.
However, this action will not cause hardening of other organs around the wound. Complaints that you feel at this time may be reasonable because it is caused by a thickening of the skin after healing the wound, the formation of scar tissue in the wound, but it can also be unnatural such as the formation of an abscess in the former operation, so it is recommended to check back to the doctor who performed surgery to you to re-evaluate whether there are certain postoperative complications.
In the meantime, keep your surgical scar clean. You are also still allowed to carry out activities as usual if it has been recommended to move by your doctor. There are no medicines that are recommended for you to take without further advice from your doctor.
I hope this helps.
