Hello, I am asking for quite a while now that the back of my ear is scratched, itchy and runny. Water that comes out is sometimes clear as water, sometimes yellow, the liquid smells. If you leave a part of the wound becomes yellow crust. Is that why? Then, how can I do the initial treatment for now? Thank you

Hello Rahma, thank you for asking on HealthReplies.com.

Seeing your complaint, it can be caused by a bacterial infection in a pre-existing wound, contact dermatitis, or impetigo. Because there are several possible conditions as mentioned earlier, it is highly recommended that you check the condition with your doctor for further examination. After the examination, then the diagnosis can be determined and so is the most appropriate treatment. Your doctor may also refer you to an ENT doctor or dermatologist (depending on the diagnosis of your condition), to ensure you get optimal therapy.

In the meantime, it's best not to scratch or scrape the wound because both of these can aggravate complaints or even cause more severe infections. If there is a dried liquid, you can try cleaning it with cotton / gauze that has been moistened with warm water slowly, if it is difficult, do not force it and wait until the dry liquid is released by itself. Do not use any topical medication in the area because it might make the condition worse. Use only medicines that are given by the doctor after you have checked.

I hope this helps.
