Good morning Yolla, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com. We understand your confusion. Late menstruation is often associated with pregnancy conditions. Even so, there are various causes of late menstruation that you need to know besides being pregnant. Among others are:
Lifestyle, such as fatigue, lack of sleep, are on a diet program or consume lots of fatty foods
Stress or a lot of pressure
Hormonal imbalance due to contraceptive use
Ovarian cyst syndrome
Thyroid hormone disorders
Having excess weight or less than normal
So indeed if there are no signs of pregnancy detected from ultrasound, one of the possibilities above can be the cause. Actually the one who can answer this clearly is precisely the doctor who has examined you, because of the examination will know the trends. So the best step is actually to ask directly, while if your doctor answers in a language that you still don't understand, as a patient you have the right to ask questions until you understand, because it's your right to know what is happening to you and what your doctor consider this and future plans.
If you feel uncomfortable with your doctor now, you also have the right to seek a second opinion with another obstetrician, and this time, make sure you have asked everything. Because after all, we can not determine with certainty your condition without checking you directly.
As for sexual intercourse, this will not affect the results of the ultrasound so you do not need to worry that these activities will confuse the results you can. Meanwhile, what you can do now is do a healthy lifestyle to ensure that your condition does not originate from a bad lifestyle by maintaining ideal body weight, regular exercise, multiply the consumption of nutrient-rich foods such as vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water white, get enough sleep, and avoid stress. So, hopefully answering your question.
