I want to ask, my child aged 9 years 5 days ago was stated to be affected by symptoms of typhus by the doctor after having had diarrhea and fever for 4 days. Doctors prescribe cefixime, paracetamol and domperidom antibiotics for 5 days. On day 4 of my doctor’s medication consumption I did not give paracetamol because his body temperature was normal in the morning and afternoon, but last night I measured my child’s body temperature to 35.8 ° C, is that normal?

Hi Risa

Typhus is a disease that is caused due to bacterial infection, typhus is transmitted through contaminated food / drink. Typhus can occur in both children and adults. Typhus generally causes symptoms such as fever that can last for more than 7 days, nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders such as diarrhea, weakness, headaches. Typhoid fever usually tends to be higher in the evening. So from the condition that your child is experiencing, if your child's body temperature rises again at night, then it is a disease of typhus. In addition, as explained above, typhoid fever can reach up to more than 7 days.

If your child has been treated and given antibiotics, then the consumption of antibiotics according to your doctor's recommendations to completion. If indeed your child's body temperature is more than 38 degrees, then you can stab a fever-lowering medication given by your doctor. Re-control your doctor if your child's complaints have not improved, so your doctor can check on your child's condition regularly. Give enough drinking water.
