Is Breast Milk A Little Offspring?
, want to ask … my mother used to be hard to get her breast milk, so when I was little she was replaced with milk. well, if my parents used to have a little, what will descend to me later? how to overcome it huh? I don’t like that
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
The most common cause of decreased milk production is the wrong way of breastfeeding, for example, poor attachment of babies, infants who experience nipple confusion, lack of breast emptying, supplementary formula feeding, etc. Some women do have little milk because the milk glands have little or no development (or called mammary gland hypoplasia), but this condition is quite rare.
Here are some things you can do to make sure your baby gets enough milk after you give birth later:
Initiate early breastfeeding
Feed your baby relaxed, avoiding excessive stress and anxiety because it can reduce milk production
Give ASI directly as often as possible (especially in the first months when the milk production has not been stable), feed the baby every 2-3 hours
Make sure the baby's attachment to the breast is good
Feed the baby until the breasts are completely empty (usually takes 15-20 minutes per breast), first feed from one breast until empty, continue to the next breast
Breast pump if it doesn't feel empty
Avoid giving pacifiers or bottled milk before the baby is really good at nursing
Breast milk is the most recommended food to be given to babies, but it is important for you to also know that it is best for your baby to get enough food and nutrition. Therefore, if indeed your milk production will still not be much after you try to increase your milk production optimally, you still have to provide enough food for babies, either in the form of donor milk or formula milk.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
