Is It Appropriate To Give Formula Milk When A Child Is One Year Old?
Morning, I want to ask .. my child now wants 1 year, and exclusive ASI. Sometimes I think of giving milk because I’m afraid that my breastmilk is lacking in nutrition; D. Is it appropriate for me to give milk to my child?
Hello Laili Farihah,
For babies who are undergoing exclusive breastfeeding, breast milk consumption is the best modality for children's health, can be continued until the age of 2 years. If so far you are worried whether breastfeeding is lacking / not which has an impact on children's nutrition, you can monitor it from a chart of children's nutritional conditions that compares between a child's height and weight, whether it is suitable for your child's age. Formula milk can be given if forced because milk production is not smooth or there are certain medical conditions experienced by the mother. If the milk production is good, it is not formula milk / milk solution, but it can be given complementary food (MPASI)
The exclusive ASI program for children lasts for up to 2 years, ideally no additional additions such as formula milk are needed, but if you want to find out more information about formula milk, click this link.
It should be noted if the child's condition is malnourished / poor, if so, it is advisable to see a pediatrician
Hopefully this information helps you,
