Is It Normal For The Minus Eye To Increase?
I want to ask, my age is now 20 years, but I have suffered from myopia since the 2nd grade of high school, and now minus my eyes continue to grow. until in college now minus my eye has reached 5D for the right, is this normal for people my age?
Hello Ilham, Thank you for the question.
Minus eyes or myopia is a blurred vision when looking at objects that are far away. Shadow light of objects that enter the eye must fall on the retina to produce clear vision. In myopia, light shading objects that enter the eye fall in front of the retina because of the shape of the eyeball that is too long / oval.
Increased eye size minus each myopia sufferer is different. Some are getting faster but some are slower so there is no normal or no benchmark for increasing the size of a person's minus eye. Some factors that can influence it are heredity, watching or reading habits too close, lack of sunlight, and lack of vitamin D. To maintain your eye health, please always maintain the right reading distance and make sure the lighting is always comfortable for your eyes. Use eyeglasses with the right size and always check yourself to the eye doctor.
I hope this helps.
