Is It Safe To Have Sex After Undergoing Curettage?
Tonight, I want to ask. I had a miscarriage and finally had to go through curettage surgery on 13 October. Then I HB with my husband on October 27th. Is that okay? “But right there was no blood coming out / stopping. What is the suggestion. Thank you
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, the recovery period after curettage is quite fast. Generally you are not advised to put anything in the vagina (including using a tampon, douche or wash the vagina soaked with certain ingredients, or have sexual relations) while bleeding still occurs (generally the bleeding will stop completely after 2 weeks). This is intended to prevent infection of the uterus that is still injured.
If indeed your sexual intercourse has been within 2 weeks from the time of doing curettage, blood is no longer coming out of your vagina, then your sexual intercourse is safe. However, you need to know that it cannot be clearly established exactly when you will ovulate after curettage. Therefore, if you still want to postpone pregnancy, you should use condoms or other contraception to prevent pregnancy. If you and your partner already feel ready to get pregnant again, then you can directly try to get pregnant (no need to procrastinate).
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
