excuse me .. this afternoon I was bitten by a large black ant on the home page, at first it was just an ordinary pain, a few minutes later a small bump on the part that was bitten, then an enlarged bump, 30 minutes later a bump appeared elsewhere, not long after that almost my entire body bumped into a bump , very itchy and feels hot, shortness of breath, my body is hot and cold and my stomach hurts a lot, the pain comes and goes every 30 seconds. then I drink green coconut water and then about half an hour the stomach pain disappears and the bumps throughout the body shrink. Is the big black ant at home poisoned?

1 Answer:

Hello!

Thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com,

Insect or animal bites can cause an inflammatory reaction in the body that can be characterized by swelling, itching, rashes and redness in the body, hot sensation and pain in the bitten area. However, under conditions of reaction to bites, stings, or punctured by animal parts can be accompanied by heavier body reactions.

Some possibilities that can occur due to bites, stings, or punctured body parts of animals and insects, include:

Acute urticaria. Reaction to the skin in the form of biduran, the skin looks elevated and sized like islands on the skin of the body.
Venenata dermatitis. Inflammatory reactions on the skin due to insect bites, are generally localized and there are reddish linear lesions in the bitten area.

Angioedema. Inflammatory reactions accompanied by a buildup of fluid in the inner skin layer, generally can be detected on the face. The face and lips and the skin around the eyes appear swollen. Under certain conditions it can be accompanied by symptoms of shortness of breath.

Anaphylactic shock. Reactions to toxins in insect bites accompanied by shock conditions, decreased blood pressure, to decreased consciousness. Is a life threatening condition.

In the case of a threatened airway and decreased awareness due to insect bites, it is advisable to immediately go to the Emergency Department of the nearest hospital for examination and management that can help prevent life-threatening conditions. If the insect bite reaction is local and not life-threatening, it can avoid the insect that causes the reaction, clean the bitten area with running water and soap, then prevent scratching or try to eliminate the skin reaction with self-medication without doctor's instructions. Can consult a doctor or dermatologist regarding your condition.

The reaction that arises in you is not caused by an ant condition that is poisonous, but the inflammatory reaction that arises in your body is quite severe because it causes symptoms of shortness of breath. Inflammatory relievers can be given, supplemental oxygen supplementation, and intravenous access to assist administration of certain drugs / medications if there are indications of these actions after consulting a doctor, physical examination and support.

Hopefully this information can help you,

Regards.
