Is There A Lens That Has Been Planted In His Eye, Can I Use A Soft Lens?
Good afternoon, I am Zahro aged 20 years nI want to ask, when I was 5 years old, I had cataract surgery for both eyes, so after that I had to keep wearing glasses because they were not completely healed, but every time I change my glasses, check the minus for the eyes The right eye can be detected minus the brpa, but if the left eye can’t be detected there is a rich red light, that’s how the optician said that my left eye has an implanted lens, now what I ask is whether my eye with an implanted lens can use a soft lens or not ? The problem is there are a few moments where I want to use a softlens but I’m still afraid because I don’t know whether it’s safe or not, so, please explain, thank you
Hello Zahro, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
A person who has had cataract surgery and uses implanted lenses (intraocular lenses) is fine to use contact lenses after the eye has experienced complete healing after surgery. If you had surgery 15 years ago, then it is actually okay to use contact lenses today.
Before you decide to use contact lenses, it's a good idea to read this article first to find out the risks of using contact lenses, and also read how to care for contact lenses so that they are safe to use.
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
