Is This A Side Effect Of A Drug Or Corona Symptoms?
Here’s the doc, I yesterday took the panadol flu drug u0026amp; I coughed (green) and had already taken 3 eggs, but after taking the medicine I experienced symptoms such as nausea, left hand felt like swelling, dizziness, stomach ache, loss of appetite, drowsiness but could not sleep, breathing rather tightness, sore throat and fever. I want to ask whether these symptoms are side effects of the drugs I drink or are symptoms of corona? Thank you
Hello Yosie Andrean,
Panadol cold and cough (green) medicine contains Paracetamol. Phenyephrine HCl, and Dextromethorphan Hbr. This drug is useful to reduce symptoms of fever, cough, nasal congestion, sneezing, and cough (no phlegm).
This drug can be taken by adults at a dose of 1 tablet, 4-6 times a day, with a maximum dose of 8 tablets per day. Side effects that may arise when taking this drug are:
Disorders of the digestive tract.
Increased blood pressure
Heart rhythm disorders
Allergic reactions ranging from mild such as itching, rashes and bumps on the skin, swelling in certain body parts (especially the lips, eyelids), and severe reactions if there is swelling in the respiratory tract until the patient is shortness of breath, wheezing; gag; to a decrease in blood pressure due to anaphylactic reactions that can cause tissue perfusion disorders (emergencies), patients usually feel heart palpitations and then faint
Drug side effects including allergic reactions due to drugs most commonly arise within 1 hour after consumption of the drug. Some allergic reactions can occur hours or days later (less frequently). Allergic reactions and side effects arising from the drug usually only lasts> 24 hours.
If you have a history of allergies to one of the ingredients contained in the drug, you should be careful and stop using the drug. If there is a fever> 38 degrees Celsius, you can consume only drugs that contain paracetamol, while watching for reactions that occur later (if there are similar symptoms).
The symptoms of Covid-19 (corona virus disease) are the same as those of other infectious diseases. However, common symptoms that appear in Covid-19 patients include:
Fever with a temperature of> 38 degrees Celsius when measured using a thermometer
Pain in the bones and joints
Shortness of breath (especially severe symptoms) is characterized by a rapid breathing rate, decreased oxygen saturation
The diagnosis of Covid-19 can be ascertained from the results of investigations supporting RT-PCR respiratory tract swab results. If you have symptoms of fever (+) and one of the respiratory symptoms AND no other cause / disease that can explain your symptoms (flu, cough colds, pharyngitis, allergic rhinitis, etc.) AND in the last 14 there is a history of traveling / domicile in areas with local Covid-19 transmission or there is a history of close contact with patients / suspected patients with Covid-19, you should quickly contact the 119 ext 9 or 112 hotline or other Covid-19 hotline provided by the local government to get an appropriate direction of the flow of examination.
If symptoms are mild, respiratory diseases caused by viral infections are self-limiting diseases (can heal on their own due to good immunity), so patients are advised to rest at home and avoid physical contact with others (so as not to transmit ). If there is a fever> 40 degrees Celsius, high fever> 3 days, shortness of breath, coughing up blood, decreased awareness and other emergency signs, please visit the nearest health facility.
If you have to travel outside the house, follow these rules:
Use a mask
Do not use public transportation
Physical distancing and avoiding crowds
Wash your hands thoroughly with running water + soap
Do not use cutlery alternately
Do not touch the face with your hands especially if you have not washed your hands
Quickly wash clothes that are used when you arrive at home
Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
