Is This Bipolar?
, I am 15 years old sitting in junior high school class 1. So, lately I often find articles about bipolar from the start understanding, symptoms, causes, signs, etc. So the more I searched for articles about it, it was the same as what I felt, the same was really the same until I thought I was also experiencing bipolar disorder. I used to be a victim of bullying for 4 times, 1 period of elementary school, 2 periods of junior high school, and 1 time of bullying of a large family, but I never told my parents about this, for bullying of my extended family my family already knew and didn’t think much if I would be depressed . And I experienced bullying disd and junior high school days, not just 1 to 2 friends, even 1 generation to 1 school, 2 already I almost tried to commit suicide, without anyone knowing, but I immediately realized. I often depressed and changed mood (bipolar) in a long period of time, which is 2 months, as I recently felt, from the beginning of November to the end of December. And for a number of clients, I often forget all of myself, I’ve been called by my friend’s name, but I didn’t look at all, when he came and asked me, I said if my name wasn’t that. If I do, I’m bipolar, I consult a doctor, but I’m afraid to tell my parents. So, I’m bipolar or some other mental disorder or something? Thank you.
Good afternoon, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder characterized by drastic or significant emotional changes. The significance is that the person can change the condition of his feelings from extreme sadness (depression) to excessive happiness (manic or hypomanic). This condition is still not known with certainty the cause, but so far the factors that are expected to influence the occurrence can be in the form of traumatic events, brain chemical imbalances, sleep disorders, physical illness, drug consumption, and genetic or hereditary factors.
In your case, we cannot determine whether you have the possibility of contracting the disease or not because the description of the symptoms you have mentioned does not adequately represent suspicion in that direction. You mentioned that you forgot about yourself but this is not a symptom of bipolar disorder. Even if you ever feel a drastic change in mood, the sadness experienced by a bipolar person is so strong that he is lazy to talk, lazy to interact, lazy to eat that may want to end his life, and his pleasure is so excessive that he feels no need to sleep, talk not stop-stop, travel to and fro, and so forth.
So as we suggest, we don't think it's a problem if you keep checking yourself with a psychologist or psychiatrist. You do not need to be sick first before going to the experts. It is they who will determine what conditions you may experience now based on the examination in the form of interviews and certain tests. It could be that you are not experiencing bipolar but multiple personality, psychosis, or even actually normal.
You also do not need to be afraid to express to parents, because if in fact you feel disturbed and there is a clear cause of history of bullying, chances are you have a disorder that exists. Suppose your parents don't want to take you directly to a psychiatrist, it doesn't matter if you want to see a psychologist first. Most importantly, your condition still cannot be ascertained without direct examination. So, hopefully answering your question.
