And how to overcome the danger of sucking tap water? Thank you

Hello Steven, thanks for asking.

The method you are referring to might be nasal irrigation or also called sinus irrigation. This method can reduce symptoms and speed healing of people with nasal cavities, sinusitis, or influenza. It is said that people with the above conditions, can get faster healing and recurrence less frequently, if routinely several times a week doing nasal irrigation. The way it works is by passing fluid into the nasal cavity and sinuses, then allergens, mucus, remaining cells, bacteria, and viruses can be transported out. In addition, irrigation fluid can maintain the humidity of the nasal and sinus mucosa.

However, the method should not be done carelessly, the equipment must be precise and clean, and use saline (salt solution) as an irrigation liquid. Don't use any liquid, especially raw tap water, because tap water carries the risk of carrying more bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. The risk of infection will actually increase if nasal irrigation uses tap water.

Saline solutions can be purchased at pharmacies or can be supplemented with nasal irrigation devices. Also note how to use the tool. The position of the upper body must bend 45 degrees, tilt one of the nostrils so that it faces down. Press the irrigation tool until the saline liquid enters the nasal cavity and comes out of the other nasal cavity. When liquid enters the mouth, remove it from the mouth. When doing irrigation, breathe through your mouth.

Thus a brief explanation from me, hopefully useful. Regards.
