Is Yogurt That Has Exceeded The Expiration Date Can Still Be Consumed?
I have read several articles that there are some foods that are still suitable for consumption even though they have passed the expiration date. I keep yogurt in the back of the fridge / the coldest and it tastes also still good and there is no change at all. My question is 1. Can yogurt be consumed even after the expiration date? 2. If possible, what are the effects on health?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Some foods or drinks can indeed be eaten a little past the stated expiration date. Yogurt is one of them. yogurt can still be eaten for 1-2 weeks beyond the expiration date listed on the package as long as it is stored in the refrigerator properly. However, if you see mold growing on the yogurt packaging, the yogurt is already open, or if the packaging is broken, the yogurt should be discarded.
Pay attention to the expiration date on the yogurt package you eat, if it's still past 1-2 weeks, then most likely the yogurt is still good for you to consume. When it exceeds 2 weeks, yogurt should not be consumed again. If after consuming yogurt you experience symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, check with your doctor.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
