Isn’t It Dangerous, The Suture Thread Is Still Embedded In The Legs ?!
Tonight, March 25, 2020, I had a tumor operation on my leg. And the stitches were opened on April 6, 2020. The next day I changed the bandages, and I checked that there were still stitches on my legs. Not all released. Is this harmless thread still embedded in my feet? Thank you in advance doc.
Hello Lurin, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Let me introduce myself, Dr. Rio will answer your question.
Respond to the questions you ask about stitches that are still left behind. It should be ascertained whether it is a stitch thread or not. Sometimes the color is similar to black scars that arise. Basically, sewing threads are divided into two types, namely thread absorbed by the body, and which is not absorbed by the body. Usually for sewing the outside is used thread that cannot be absorbed by the body, so that when the wound has closed then the thread will be removed. In your case if it is true that the thread is actually not dangerous but sometimes it can be annoying. So you should consult a doctor at the clinic or at the health center, and as much as possible the thread will be removed.
That's all my answer, thank you very much :)
