Itching Caused By Chronic Burns?
Ass, I want to ask my husband, I have had burns for 2 years but the itching and pain have never disappeared … what medicine should I use to relieve the itching and pain … please help … thanks
Hello Rey, thanks for asking.
Burns is a condition of damage to body tissue due to extreme temperatures. In the layers of the skin and mucosa of the body, there are many nerve endings and blood vessels. When a burn occurs, then some nerves and blood vessels will certainly be damaged and die. The wider and deeper the burn that occurs, the wider the nerve damage. In the healing process, sometimes nerves that experience damage and death, can not regenerate perfectly. This can cause disruption of nerve function and sensation. As a result, burn scars often feel itchy or painful even years later.
Unfortunately, there is no specific drug that can stop the process. Your doctor may be able to provide anti-histamine and analgesics to reduce itching and pain, but in nature it only reduces symptoms temporarily. Your husband should consult first with a dermatologist or surgeon to check his condition. The doctor will determine whether itching and pain occur due to scars of talent, or maybe there are other problems, such as infections of the muscles. The therapy will be adjusted according to the cause determined by the doctor.
Thus a brief explanation from me. Hope it can be useful. Regards.
