Itching In The Area Around The Wound?
Hello. I fell back 2 weeks back from the motorbike and the wound was dry but instead itchy at the same time I was scratched and kept coming out of the wound to the bottom of the wound and then I went to the doctor. many until the eyes are also swollen red. I want to ask for tips on how to deal with red itchiness if you scratch even more?
Hello, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com
Itching can be caused by several factors, ranging from the effects of inflammation, allergies, to the presence of foreign substances for the body. Itching that occurs in the wound healing process is normal. In general, this is the result of the body's response to tissue repair both physically and chemically on the skin tissue.
Some people are not aware of and often scratch the wound, the scratched skin will cause the skin to dry out and form small open sores that will slow the healing process due to the level of the skin that is scratched. In addition, scratching can increase the risk of infection where germs from the hands and the environment can move and enter the skin.
In the meantime what you can do include:
Avoid dust, cigarette smoke, pollution
Maintain personal and environmental hygiene
Avoid the air is too hot or too cold
Changing and cleaning sheets and curtains
Avoid the use of fluffy blankets and furry dolls
Increase water intake
If your complaint does not improve or you are worried you should check with your nearest doctor for further examination and treatment related to your condition
So much information from me, hopefully it helps
