Itchy And Dry Breast Areola?
I’m a 17 year old girl. It’s been a month since my breast areola feels itchy and dry. At first I tried searching on google, then I found a recommendation for smearing petroleum jelly and I did it. After a while, his condition got better. But in the past few days the itching has returned and my areola has become very dry. I accidentally scratched it, as a result, there were blisters too. Then yesterday it appeared like a very small pimple near my areola. Why do you think this? And what do I need to do to make a full recovery? Thank you in advance.
The complaints you feel can be caused by several possibilities such as:
Fungal infections Irritation Bacterial infections Malignancy, and others
Fungal infection of the breast, can cause itching. The fungus that causes itself is also of various types. Irritation of the skin of the breast can also cause itching where this irritation can be triggered by many things such as friction, cosmetic ingredients and others. Breasts that are infected and have malignancy can also cause the complaints you experience.
What you can do is do BSE (breast self-examination), if you find abnormalities, you should immediately see a doctor. The doctor will conduct an immediate examination and may suggest additional tests such as ultrasound. Therapy will be given by the doctor according to what you are experiencing. For now, avoid scratching the itchy area and avoid using drugs outside of the doctor's advice.
I hope this helps.
