It’s Been 4 Years Sleeping Without A Dream?
Hello, I’ve been sleeping for over 4 years without a dream. Although occasionally I had a dream, but more dominant sleep without a dream. I had googled and it was said that dreamless sleep is a sign of depression but some say that dreamless sleep is better because it is a good night’s sleep. How is it good to sleep without dreams? And what causes a person to sleep without dreaming? Because sometimes I want to dream when my friends always tell their dreams. Thank you.
Sleep is one of the basic human needs to be able to rest. Please note, sleep is divided into several phases, namely the light sleep phase, the rather deep sleep phase, the Non-REM phase and the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) phase. Dreams generally occur in the REM phase / deep sleep phase, in which the brain will emit delta waves and a person experiences dreams. The occurrence of dreams indicates a person's brain remains active even though he is deep asleep and difficult to wake up. The delta waves in this phase make the mind so creative that it gives rise to dream-shaped images and ideas.
Until now, no one has been able to manipulate dreams to determine when to dream or when not to dream. Never dreaming while sleeping is neither a dangerous medical condition nor a sign of illness. It should be noted is the quality of sleep experienced by a person. Poor sleep quality due to disturbances in sleep patterns such as insomnia if it occurs for a long time can cause prolonged health problems.
If you are still worried about this condition, there is nothing wrong with consulting a psychologist or psychiatrist to get a more in-depth examination and explanation.
I hope this helps,
