IUD Control KB IUD Has Not Been Dangerous For Three Years?
1., I haven’t control IUD for almost 3 years. And there are no obstacles that I experienced, is it dangerous for my body? 2. Where should the IUD KB thread be?
Good evening, thanks for the question
IUD (intrauterine device) contraception with copper material (copper IUD) can be used up to 8 years after installation. After installation, the patient will usually be asked to control for checking the location of the IUD 4-6 weeks later. Afterwards, if there are no significant complaints, then there is no need for routine control. Some complaints during the use of IUD contraception that require further examination by obstetricians, namely:
1. Does not feel any thread inside the vagina
2. Acute abdominal pain above the genitals
3. Leucorrhoea smells
4. Bleeding outside the menstrual period
Users of IUD contraception are advised to check the position of the IUD routinely and independently. The examination is carried out every month after the completion of the menstrual period. The examination is done by inserting a finger (previously washing hands with soap) up to 1/3 of the inside of the vagina. At that location, the IUD thread will be felt by the fingers if the IUD is correctly positioned. If it is difficult to reach with the fingers inside the vagina, chances are the IUD can shift. If so, you should consult with an obstetrician to evaluate the position of the IUD. That's all, hope you can help
