IUD Threads That Cannot Be Found When They Are Removed?
I want to ask, I use KB spiral already 3 years in February 2019 I want to loose but how come there is no thread, yes, if that’s the way it is
Hello Rarasati, thank you for asking on HealthReplies.com.
IUD threads that cannot be found can be caused by several things such as the unconscious release of the IUD, the location of the IUD that is no longer where it should be, or the use of an IUD thread that is too short when first installing. Removal of the IUD itself in principle must be done by competent health workers such as by midwives or doctors, should not be done alone, especially by forcibly pulling out the IUD because it can cause dangerous consequences such as uterine bleeding.
Therefore, to ascertain whether there is indeed an IUD thread or not, you should check with your doctor and do a doctor's release. The doctor will attach a device that will be inserted into your vagina to ascertain whether the IUD thread is still in place or not, if the thread is gone and the possibility of the IUD is no longer in place, then the doctor will conduct further examinations in the form of an ultrasound or even X-ray examination of the abdomen to ensure the location of the migrated IUD to be removed. If the location is already very difficult to reach by using the usual method, then the doctor may consult you with other specialist doctors to do the release in accordance with the location where the IUD is located.
I hope this helps.
