Is it possible to use an IUD again (after it has been removed for 5 years)? If so, what is the distance between the release of the first IUD and the installation of the second IUD?
Hello Azizah S, thank you for the question yes at HealthReplies.com.
Basically, someone who has already used an IUD is allowed to use the IUD method again, and generally if you still want to use this method as a method of contraception and your condition allows, a second IUD will be installed as soon as the first IUD is removed.
If you have already removed an IUD but have not yet been re-inserted, it is advisable to consult with your doctor about your current condition, is it possible to do an IUD or not or you will be advised to change the method of contraception, because there are some circumstances where it cannot be done IUD installation such as infection of the uterus or pelvis, being pregnant, menstruating, and others.
I hope this helps.
