Knee Pain Treatment Does Not Go Away?
doctor. I want to ask. I am 28 years old. I injured my knee while playing soccer. it’s been 10 months. but why does my knee still hurt too. and not strong. do I need to do surgery to get my knee back to normal. ?? will this pain be permanent. ?? answer please. thank you..
Did you ever see a doctor when you were injured? What kind of treatment do you get? Injury to the knee can involve joints, innervation, blood vessels, ligaments, cartilage, or bone. When you have an injury, you can complain of knee pain, limited movement, bruising, and swelling. Sometimes there can also be complaints of tingling, numbness in the lower legs, and appear pale.
Several types of injuries to the knee include sprains, damaged cartilage discs, inflammation of the knee fluid sacs, joint dislocations, knee muscle tension, and knee fractures. Examinations performed for the knee injury are history, physical examination, x-rays, CT scan, and MRI if necessary. Treatment of knee injuries will be adjusted according to the results of examinations ranging from medications, fluid aspiration to surgery and physiotherapy.
If it's been 10 months that you still feel pain even though you have received proper treatment, you need to think again about the causes of knee pain other than knee injuries. Apart from knee injuries, knee pain can also be caused by other things such as arthritis, tendonitis, bleeding in the joints, and infection in the joints.
To ensure the condition of your knees, I suggest that you check with an orthopedic doctor so that you can do a direct examination of your knees and feet. If the cause of pain is confirmed, the doctor will be able to provide more appropriate treatment for you. Regarding surgery, not all pain conditions in the knee require surgery. Operation is only carried out if it meets the indications.
In the meantime you can do the following tips:
Warm compress if pain
Warm up sufficiently before exercise
Avoid movements that stress the knee
Lose weight if necessary
Use comfortable footwear
Get enough rest
Hold up the pillow while lying down
Apply pain relieving gel / cream if necessary
Hope it can help you,
