Lameson For Eczema?
Hello, I want to ask .. so both my palms were affected by eczema (I have a history of eczema from a minor), then because I always itch at night, I finally took 4mg of lameson. Are there any side effects if I drink lameson carelessly?
Hello Sinta, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Eczema or what is also called atopic dermatitis is a condition where there is inflammation of the skin whose cause is not known with certainty, but it is closely related to a family history of atopic dermatitis as well, and is associated with other conditions such as asthma and allergic rhinitis.
Because the rash in eczema is caused by an inflammatory reaction, the use of steroid drugs such as methylpredisolone (the active ingredient in Lameson) can indeed reduce the symptoms you feel. However, the use of oral steroids (oral drugs) is not recommended unless the inflammatory reaction occurs over a very large area. Taking steroid type drugs carelessly can cause side effects that are dangerous to your own health, so it's best if you don't do it again.
Here are some things you can do to reduce symptoms:
Keep skin moist. Don't shower too long, too often, and don't take hot showers. Use a hypoallergenic and fragrance-free skin moisturizer after you shower Avoid using products that can irritate the skin If your eczema is related to the consumption of certain foods, avoid eating these foods Reduce stress Medical therapy is more focused on reducing itching symptoms which can be treated with medication antihistamines, while the rash on the skin itself can be treated with topical steroids (topical drugs) which have far less side effects than oral medications. To get these drugs, it's a good idea to consult with a doctor first or you can also consult a dermatologist for further evaluation and treatment.
