Large Red Lump On The Breast Of A 7 Month Old Baby?
, my nephew 7 months on his chest there was a big red lump, initially small long time enlarged. Last week coughing colds accompanied by fever but the lump was still small. Now it’s almost 5x as big.
Hello Mey, thank you for the question in the HealthReplies.com forum.
Complaints arising from your nephew at this time can be caused by several conditions such as:
Abnormalities of capillary blood vessel formation (capillary malformations)
Abnormalities in arterial-venous formation (arterial-venous malformations)
Vascular Tumors (Angiosarcoma)
and several other possibilities
Because there are quite a number of possible causes and also because the lump has grown in a short amount of time, it is advisable to conduct an examination of the complaint to a pediatrician or surgeon for further evaluation of the lump. The doctor may ask for several tests to be done such as chest X-ray, chest CT-scan, biopsy and others depending on the doctor's consideration to determine the diagnosis of the condition being experienced by your nephew. After that, then the doctor can determine whether the condition is dangerous or not and also determine what actions should be taken to overcome the condition.
For the time being, don't try to stress or try to get rid of the lump yourself or to an alternative method because it can have more dangerous consequences. Nor is it advisable to use any medicine, whether drinking or rubbing, on the lump. Also pay attention to any symptoms that accompany the complaint from the beginning.
I hope this helps.
