Late Menstruation After Unprotected Sex?
Doctor, I want to ask about late menstruation. Last week I had unprotected sex with my partner, but the intercourse only lasted about 2 minutes. My partner ejaculates outside. But this month I have not had my period. Last month I had my last period around the 20s and early December. I got my period twice in December. Is my late menstrual cycle normal? Thanks.
Hello Mr. Sabila.
Normal menstrual cycle occurs in the range of 21-35 days, sometimes it can come sooner or later. Try counting the first day of your period until today, if it is more than 35 days, it can be said that your period is late. Likewise with your menstruation which occurs 2 times in December. If it is still within the limit of 21-35 days then it is still within normal limits.
In people with active sexual relations, late menstruation can be caused by pregnancy. Do a test pack to evaluate whether you are pregnant or not. If the result is negative, it can be repeated in 1 week if you have not had your period. Late menstruation can also be caused by hormonal imbalances, stress, drastic weight loss/gain, certain medical conditions such as thyroid disease and PCOS.
Pregnancy occurs when fertilization occurs. Fertilization is the process by which sperm and egg meet. If ejaculation occurs in the vagina, the meeting of sperm and egg can occur. If not, it is highly unlikely that pregnancy will occur. If you are not married, you should not have sexual intercourse because in addition to being prohibited by law, norms, and medicine, sexual relations outside of marriage can result in sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea, HIV, hepatitis and so on.
Hopefully useful, thank you
