Legs Get Smaller After Falling?
hi. I want to ask, about 3 weeks ago I fell down the stairs. The injury just fits the left heel. I have already taken it to the doctor and the results are not good, he said. my feet from the bottom of the knee below the size are still smaller and a little dark (not bruised). Is that normal or is there a problem in the muscles / bones?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
First of all I want to confirm first, what is causing you to not be able to walk right now? Do you feel pain in your heels or do you feel pain in other places too?
Basically if there is no particular injury to your heel bone, then the pain you should feel has improved within 1-2 weeks. If indeed up to 3 weeks you still continue to feel pain in your heels or if you feel pain in other places too, then you need to find out more about the cause, whether there is a fracture in the bone that is not visible from X-rays or there is interference with the bones and other joints. To find out for sure you should check yourself with an orthopedic doctor so that you can do further evaluation and management.
Smaller muscles and darker legs can occur because you have not moved your feet for a long time. This condition is also called disuse atrophy or muscle wasting because it is not used for a long time. To overcome this, here are some things you can do:
If your heel really feels pain when stepping on it, you still have to move your feet when you are sitting or lying down Elevate the position of your feet when you are sitting and lying down (you can prop your feet with a pillow) Check with your doctor should still be done because pain that persists for up to 3 weeks indicates there are certain problems with your feet.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
