Locations For Measles And DPT Immunization Injections?
in which hand and leg do the measles and DPT injections?
p dir = "ltr"> Hello, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com
DPT immunization (diphtheria pertussis tetanus) in children is given five times, starting from children aged 2 months to 6 years. The first three are basic compulsory immunizations, given at 2 months, 3 months and 4 months. Furthermore, the 4th and 5th administration which constitutes further immunization or booster is carried out at the age of the child 18 months and 5 years. Afterwards, it is recommended to do a booster Tdap (repeated immunization of Tetanus Diphtheria and Pertussis) every 10 years.
The measles immunization is given starting children aged 9 months, then the child must receive 2 more doses of booster. Namely the first booster when a child is 18 months old, or 15 months old when receiving MMR / MR vaccine. If the child has not received the measles vaccine until 12 months of age, the MMR / MR vaccine can be given immediately. And the second booster is given when the child is 5-7 years old.
DPT vaccine and measles are given by injection with a given dose of one injection per immunization schedule. The DPT vaccine is injected into the muscles, while the measles vaccine is injected into the subcutaneous tissue. Both of these vaccines can be injected in the thigh or upper arm.
Thus hopefully useful.
