Lower Stomach Pain At 22 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I am 22 weeks pregnant, at the moment my lower abdomen is painful. I wonder why? but these 2 days I often hold urine, whether it can be a cause. Then what should I do. Thank you
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Pain in the lower abdomen in pregnant women may or may not be normal. At your current pregnancy, you may already be able to feel small contractions in your uterus (fake contractions or contractions that do not cause birth canals). Pain due to false contractions is normal pain felt throughout pregnancy. Other causes of normal pain in pregnancy include bloating and constipation, as well as pain due to stretching of the ligaments that hold the uterus (pain that is felt usually occurs suddenly, feels sharp piercing which is usually triggered by movement). The conditions above are harmless and can improve on their own.
Abnormal pain in pregnancy can be caused by:
urinary tract infection
If indeed the pain is so severe that it interferes with your activities, the pain occurs continuously, bleeding from the vagina, accompanied by pain when urinating, you experience severe nausea and vomiting, you should immediately consult your obstetrician. The above conditions can be dangerous if left unchecked, so do not delay going to the obstetrician.
If the pain that you feel is not too severe, occurs only occasionally, triggered by a certain position, then the possibility of pain that you experience is normal pain. In this case, try sitting or lying down when the pain is coming, try to find a sitting or sleeping position that is comfortable for you.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
