Lump Behind The Ears Of A 10-month-old Baby?
In the afternoon, my baby was 10 months old, behind his right ear were 2 small lumps, and one left ear. The lump can be moved but if I hold it My baby is usually not in pain, what is a lump? Is it dangerous? My baby is also experiencing prickly heat does that have anything to do? Thanks doctor for the answer.
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
A small lump behind the baby's ear can be caused by the following conditions:
Skin infections, such as folliculitis, baby acne, warts
Enlargement of the skin due to other causes (other than infection), such as skin tags, contact dermatitis, insect bites, hyperkeratosis
Lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes)
Others, for example benign or malignant tumors, calcinosis, normal skull bone variations, and so on
Prickly heat (miliaria) is usually characterized by bruntusan skin, redness, and itchy to the point of pain. Although it is very rare, prickly heat may cause a lump behind the ear. This condition is possible if the prickly heat has a secondary infection so that it swells and forms a lump.
Better, you do not guess. Check your baby directly to the doctor or pediatrician so that his condition can be evaluated more deeply. Enough with a physical examination, or assisted with laboratory examinations, ultrasound, to biopsy, doctors often can already provide the best treatment for a lump behind the ear. For now, you should do:
Keep your baby's body clean, how to routinely bathe him, shorten his nails, wash his hands, and do not hold the lump behind his ear with dirty hands
Don't press excessively, let alone pick a lump behind the baby's ear
In order for prickly heat to heal:
Maintain air circulation around the baby
Don't give baby clothes that are made from hot or tight
Avoid surgery or cream is too thick in the baby's body
Give the baby a comfortable sleeping pad, made from absorbing sweat
Hope this helps ...
